“Pushing Too Hard” - #Blog365 Day 324

It’s important to know our own boundaries and limitations.

We can never be everything to everybody, and we certainly can’t do everything at once. Because of this, we have to make sure we listen to our bodies (and our minds) to make sure that we don’t push too hard.

I thought about this today after finishing my workout at the gym. It was a good one, but one where I believe I pushed myself a little too hard; sometimes we have to moderate our work in order to stay at our best, even if it seems like pushing ourselves all the time is the way to go.

I see the connection to the work world too. I often feel like I am going a mile a minute, and at the same time, I never want to be one to make errors that shouldn’t occur. Nor do I want to forget important ideas that need to play a role in what I do.

There is a balance, as with much else, that we must pay attention too. In order to avoid pushing too hard, we must become adept at sensing when the effort becomes too great, and backing off a bit. While we might not accomplish as much in that instance, the care we take for ourselves will allow us to do even more into the future.
